My research investigates the cognitive processes involved in reading and learning to read and the various ways in which these processes can be impaired in dyslexia. With collaborators at MACCS, I am also carrying out research on the treatment of dyslexia. I am further interested in reading and language processing within other developmental disorders such as autism and Specific Language Impairment.

Professor John SuttonDeputy Director - Professor John Sutton

I work on the history, philosophy, and sciences of memory, and on the theoretical foundations of the cognitive sciences. Current projects with my collaborators and students at MACCS and in other disciplines
address collaborative recall; perspective in autobiographical memory; embodied skills and expert movement; cognitive history; and distributed or extended cognition.
