Visual Cognition Conference

Overview

This conference was a specialist meeting on visual cognition that brought together a number of leading researchers to present their work and to review research in their field. There was a focus on contributions of higher level representations to visual cognition. Topics included visual attention, attentional selection, visual search, cognition of briefly presented stimuli, RSVP phenomena, visual masking, visual STM, face recognition and the role of attention in face perception. It was funded by the Macquarie Centre for Cognitive Science, whose activities include the organization and support of small focussed meetings for discussion of topics in cognitive science.  The content of this conference will form the basis of an edited book in the Macquarie Monographs in Cognitive Science Series.

Conference Venue

The conference was held at the MGSM Conference Centre at the Macquarie University, Sydney, which is located only 20 minutes by car from the Sydney CBD.
