There are quite a few accommodation options in Sydney. Listed below are the contact details of some hotels that are close to the university. The Travelodge and MGMS Executive Hotel are located on campus.

Travelodge Macquarie North Ryde

NOTE: The Travelodge will give a discounted rate to people who are travelling on University business. To obtain this rate make sure to request the reduced rate and mention that you are attending a conference held at Macquarie University when making your booking.

Stamford Grand North Ryde

NOTE: If you are a staff member or student of a university, the Stamford Grand will give a government rate to those traveling on university business. To obtain this rate make sure to request the reduced rate and mention the university you are affiliated with when making your booking.

MGSM Executive Hotel & Conference Centre

If you would prefer to stay closer to the city, some other more expensive hotel options are listed on this website. Please be aware that it may take over an hour to travel to Macquarie University from some of these hotels.

Transport to and from Sydney Airport

Sydney Domestic and International airports are about 20 km from Macquarie University. Transport options from the airport include car, airport shuttle and train.

Taxi

Taxi is a convenient way to travel from the airport, and there are taxi ranks outside the international and domestic terminals. Fares to the university may be $70-$100 (depending on traffic).

Shuttle Bus

Shuttle buses also operate from Airport to Macquarie University. These must be booked in advance by contacting Hills Airport Shuttle.

Train

There are train stations at the international and domestic airport terminals. A train service runs from the Airport to Central Station and takes about 10 minutes. Once at Central Station you should catch a train to Epping or Chatswood train stations. From here you can transfer to “Epping-Chatswood Line” which will take you to Macquarie University.
