Seminar Abstract
Microsaccades: Their relevance for perception and attention.
Speaker : Professor Reinhold Kliegl, Department of Psychology, Potsdam University, Germany.
Date : 5th of June 2012, 4:00PM until 5:30PM
Location : C5C498 - Palermo Room, Macquarie University.
Microsaccade research has enjoyed a revival during the last ten years. The presentation briefly reviews this development. I will describe how the relation between microsaccade orientation and covert shifts of attention can be examined in a multinomial processing tree model (Laubrock et al., 2011, AP&P). Finally, I will also describe Engbert's (in press, J Neurosci) computational dynamical modeling of changes in orientation effects of microsaccades across the cue-target interval and in response to exogenous and endogenous cue conditions.
