This page can be used to find the number of first order orthographic neighbours words or nonwords have in the CELEX Wordforms database.

A word is a first-order orthographic neighbour of another word if both words have the same number of letters, and one and only one letter differs between them.

Important Note:

This utility ignores all entries in CELEX that contain any non-letter (i.e. hyphens, spaces, punctuation etc.) or capital letters, unless there is only one capital letter and it is the first letter.

It also ignores any CELEX entry with a headword that is classed as a single contraction, letter or abbreviation.
